A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced, qualified Chef to join our well established and highly reputable catering company, working at a kitchen site in an aged care facility. This position will include weekend work.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and cooking of meals for residents as per menu
- Budget, stock take and regular ordering
- Monitoring of stock after delivery
- Communicating daily with the Operations Manager and facility staff
- Ensuring kitchen operations adhere to Food Safety Program
- Supervision and the provision of direction to kitchen staff
- Ensuring all staff handle food according to safe food practices
- Ensuring all food is served to customers in a presentable manner
- Completion of food safety documentation
- Following up and documenting complaints
- Monitoring and authorising time sheets
- Assisting with weekly rostering and filling shifts
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate 3 Commercial Cooking qualification
- Experience as an aged care chef
- Current food safety supervisor training - HLTFS (within last 4 years)
- Demonstrated management experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Sector
- Basic computer skills (emails, online ordering)
- Current police check required.
