Located just off the beach in Manly, The Herring Room is a family owned restaurant run by veterans of the industry. The Herring Room is the sister restaurant to the recently closed & hugely successful, long running restaurant The Sardine Room, Potts Point.

Set in a cosy 1920’s inspired space with good old fashion hospitality, the bistro style restaurant offers dishes inspired by flavours from all around the world. Fully licensed, we offer a great selection of wine and cocktails.

We are currently looking for a resourceful and creative restaurant manager. This restaurant manager’s role & responsibilities includes collaborating with other managers to jointly maintain the restaurant’s revenue, profitability and quality goals. You will ensure efficient restaurant operations, as well as maintain high quality customer service standards.

Responsibilities:

• Jointly co-ordinate and manage restaurant operations, acting to continuously improve quality, efficiency and productivity
• Create a welcoming and service driven environment for guests
• Menu planning in consultation with chefs and owners
• Provide an exceptional customer experience for our guests
• Nurture a positive working environment leading by example
• Respond efficiently to customer complaints
• Organise and supervise shifts
• Selecting, training and supervising staff
• Plan and organise special functions
• Appraise personnel’s performance and provide feedback
• Manage stock levels
• Control costs and minimize waste
• Uphold OH&S requirements

Requirements:

• Proven working experience as a restaurant manager
• Demonstrated career experience in customer service management
• Extensive food and beverage knowledge
• Proficiency in English
• Computer literacy skills with restaurant management software, such as Resdiary & Excel
• Strong motivational and people skills
• Acute financial management skills
