About the business & role

The Aged & Disability Services Team is committed to providing high quality, flexible and responsive services to over 5,000 Peninsula residents who are older or living with a disability so that we can support them to live safely, actively and independently in their own home.

The Meals on Wheels program provides low-cost, nutritious meals to service users right across the Peninsula.

The role will offer the right candidates the opportunity to join the dedicated Meals on Wheels team. As a motivated and skilled team member, you will offer the following attributes:

Job Tasks & Responsibilities

Key duties of the role include:

• assisting with the production of low cost, attractively presented and appetising meals
• assisting the Chefs with food preparation and production when required, under supervision
• accurately plating and packing meals for delivery to clients
• maintaining the food production areas in a clean and sanitised manner
• being flexible to fill-in with other duties as required
  

Skills & Experience

You will:

• have catering experience in a Hospital or Meals on Wheels environment
• have an understanding of hygiene and health requirements for food handlers
• be physically capable of meeting the requirements of the role
• have a current Health and Community Sector food handlers certificate
• have sound knowledge of commercial cooking equipment
• have the ability to achieve objectives and set goals despite conflicting pressures
• possess a valid Employee Working with Children Check
• be prepared to undertake an Australian Criminal History check and Overseas Policy Statutory Declaration
• hold a valid Driver’s licence
