If you seriously love food (like we do) & you seriously love people (like we do)_…..we might just want to chat. We are hiring, albeit very casually. This is a casual kitchen assisting role where shifts can be some weekend days & after hour weeknights.

The hours can vary and not necessarily every week. The role involves a lot of dishwashing & kitchen organisation to ensure for a smoothly run class, however, there is so much more to the role.

The successful applicant must have hospitality experience and needs to be well presented and happy to be an all rounder. The role includes keeping up with all of the dishes during a class and the successful applicant needs to be pro active and be a step ahead of the game to ensure smooth running of a class. Food preparation experience is a huge advantage. Having the Chef’s back is another.

Our roles are not always glamorous & what people don't see is the necessary cleaning of the cooking school at the end of a class (vacuming, mopping, polishing glasses & cuttlery & tables, bin clearing, bathroom cleaning, etc) to ensure it is back to it's former shining self & perfectly presentable for the next class.

The successful applicant must be an efficient worker with a strong eye for detail. We don't take short cuts & pride ourselves on the presentation of the school. Most classes are in the evening so hours might be from 6pm start until 11pm+ (as an example) or 11am – 4pm on a weekend (again, an example). Hours will vary each roster so applicant needs to be able to demonstrate flexibility and may be as little as 3-4 hours one week and possibly more or less on other weeks, depending on the amount of classes scheduled and what each class needs staffing wise.

Important to note - We have an ever increasing amount of weekday / corporate classes & weekends as well as school holidays so ……. flexibility is needed.

The new role will commence later in June (after a trial or two). Requirements include: to be organised; a quick thinker; quick worker, full of initiative; flexible; great with people; able to be discreet and well presented. Hospitality experience is required.
