We are a large production kitchen that produces quality food and cakes to over 400 venues across Victoria including cafes, caterers and food businesses both big and small. We are on a mission to be the best and make a difference in our communities with our first-rate food.

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced production/catering Chef to work in and grow with the business. This is an exceptional time for our business and requires a Chef that can adapt quickly, take charge but also bring fresh ideas on the food market.

Your responsibilities will include, and not be limited to:

  • Ensuring and maintaining the highest levels of standards for all products.
  • Ability to follow a schedule and work efficiently, with the ability to take on and allocate additional work as required.
  • Compose daily scheduling list for teams to split customer orders and reassign work where required.
  • Understanding of bulk prep cooking, heating and cooling techniques
  • The overall direction, management and motivation of all team members, including identifying training needs.
  • Develop new flavour profiles & recipe’s
  • Continue to develop the kitchens culture of amazing fresh food for the retail market
  • 12pm start to 8-9pm (including Sunday’s)
  • Other ad-hoc administration duties as required

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years in large volume commercial Kitchen environment or similar role (production kitchen experience preferable but not essential)
  • Have extensive knowledge of food manufacturing and requirements.
  • Influencing food costs via portion control, waste minimisation & stock control.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large teams.
  • Experience in compliance and maintenance of kitchen safety standards and industry standard safe work practices.
  • Willing to spend time on the floor and is comfortable working with all levels of employees
  • Appropriate culinary qualifications
  • Great work attitude and Excellent communications skills
  • Passionate about what you do and take pride in it
  • Own transport required as we are not very close to public transport.
