The Woodlands Hotel is seeking a talented and dedicated head chef to make their mark on this high quality venue.

We want a head chef looking to make an impression in the food community by bringing your own creativity and modern ideas to the menu whilst using and sourcing the best produce and ingredients.

We are looking for an individual who has a passion and love for great food and wants to take the next step in forging their reputation.

Effectively you will be responsible for the management of the kitchen team and be required and appraised on:

  • Proven menu design and implementation with current or up and coming food trends
  • Have a professional, team orientated, customer focused hospitality outlook
  • Ensure a high level of consistency and standard in dishes being presented
  • Be confident in a very fast paced, high volume kitchen environment
  • Be able to lead, recruit, train & develop all kitchen staff
  • Be competent with all back of house duties including cost control, rostering, health & safety requirements.

Ultimately you will be evaluated on the quality of your dishes and your ability to lead and guide a very busy service kitchen, food and labour costs and control.

You will work in a fully supportive team environment 45hrs per week with guaranteed 2 days off per week

Our venue is largely focused on bringing customers the best in Victorian craft beer, wine and produce. Applicants with an interest in working with craft beer will be looked upon favourably but not essential, as we host many good beer week and beer and food matching events across the year along with other events like burlesque nights etc.

Situated in the evolving suburb of Coburg, The Woodlands Hotel was the first dedicated craft beer venue to open in the Brunswick/Coburg area when it was renovated back in 2011. Since then we have established a reputation for providing the best in food, craft beer and service in our down to earth style in the surrounds of our completely unique venue, which has to be seen to be believed. The venue comprises an upstairs dining / function room, downstairs bar area offering relaxing dining and an awesome indoor/outdoor beer garden, a total venue capacity of 300 pax.
