Three Pandas restaurant is one of many shops located within The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) at Parkville. The Hospital has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 140 years. We have a very steady flow of customers including medical staff as well as patients' visitors.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Chef specialising in Chinese and Asian (southeast) Cuisine to join our busy kitchen. You will be working with a team of 6 people.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Preparation of hot foods (commercial quantity) for two hot bars (Bain Marie)

- Demonstrate the ability to handle a large number of À la carte orders within a very short time frame (lunchtime rush hours)

- Stock control and Ordering stock as well as minimize wastage

- Maintaining a hygienic work environment at all times

- Able to come up with seasonal new dishes/menus

- Take charge of the kitchen team

Selection Criteria:

- Experience in Traditional and Modern Chinese, Asian Cuisine (MUST) and Japanese/Korean Cuisine (Advantageous)

- At least 5 years proven experience in either an authentic Asian restaurant or production-based facility

- Good verbal communication skills in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

- Strong organisational and time management skills

- Motivated and efficient

- Ability to work under pressure in a busy open plan kitchen

- A clear understanding of HACCP policies and other health and hygiene procedures

- Good staff managing skills

- References required
