About Department

St Vincent’s Fitzroy Food service department is a central production kitchen providing food for 11 sites and for St Vincent’s itself. We are fully functional kitchen operating 365 days of the year. We produce approximately 2500 meals daily in accordance to the “cook-chill” methodology for all sites.

Food service department consist of over 90 employees ranging from cooks/chefs, kitchen hands ,and food service assistants.

About the Role

The Food Service Assistant under the guidance of the FSA Supervisor will be responsible to plate, clean and provide meal and beverage services to all SVHM clients both internal and external. Some basic meal preparation and production may be required from time to time.

Duties

• Assist in providing the full range of food service assistant duties including but not limited to
  • Setting up, cleaning down and re -stocking of plating area
  • Provision of correct food items as per patient meal ticket
  • Provision of correct beverages as per patient meal ticket
  • Cleaning of food service trolleys and associated trays, crockery, cutlery etc.
  • Cleaning of beverage trolleys and associated cups, jugs etc.
  • Salad and Sandwich preparation and production
