The Position

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cook who has a particular interest and passion about healthy eating at an early years education facility located in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. You will be reporting to our Head Chef and be responsible for the production of all culinary offerings for our students.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative 'foodie' who wants to be part of a busy team. The primary role is to be hands on and ensure the food offer at the site is delivered to an exceptional standard.

A day in the life

• Ensuring food preparation, cooking and presentation is to a high standard
• Take ownership and actively contribute to the quality of food preparation and service
• Observation of and implementation of allergy awareness controls
• Implementing great ideas and seeking opportunities for improvement
• Ensure the safe production of a quality product without comprise to the food safety guidelines provided

A bit about you

• Experience cooking within a commercial kitchen – childcare understanding and knowledge of early learning kitchens a must
• Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
• Full understanding of OHS, Hygiene & HACCP regulations
• Be truly passionate about nutrition & healthy eating
• Proven allergen awareness/training is essential
