Your role as an early childcare cook

Being a childcare cook is an all encompassing role that includes managing stock levels, planning cyclical menus, food preparation, cooking and at times managing staff that will assist you in the kitchen.

You will be responsible for liaising with suppliers and ensuring that weekly orders fall within the allocated budget. You must also have an in-depth understanding of food allergies and be able to incorporate these restrictions into a cyclical menu that caters for 60 - 120 children per day.

Childcare Cook requirements

• Qualification in hospitality or commercial cookery
• First Aid including CRP, asthma and anaphylaxis
• Working with children’s check
• Experience in a similar role
• Food handlers certificate
• Understanding of food allergies
• Must have the right to work in Australia
