No1 Lounges is an independent airport lounge provider. Working on an Australian wide expansion plan, in collaboration with Etihad Airways and Virgin Australia. No1 provides passengers with the opportunity to make the most of their pre-flight time. During 2017 No1 welcomed 1.5m passengers from all cabin classes to indulge in a wide range of facilities, from fully-tended bars to bedroom pods. We are excited about our expansion into the Australian markets and are looking for talented individuals to join our team to help roll out a set of lounges in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane international Airports.

PURPOSE

You play a key part in delivering No1 Lounges food offering to standard every time, while ensuring the kitchen is in pristine condition and adhering to food safety regulations at all times

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing raw and cooked ingredients, cooking and presenting No1 lounges delicious food and maintaining and being responsible for every dish leaving the kitchen
  • Ensuring the standards expected in the kitchen to be able to achieve excellent service and quality product front of house and ensure the team works together
  • Take ownership and management of a busy kitchen ensuring food waste is kept to an absolute minimum, take control of the pass in a calm effective manner and managing staff, cleanliness of the prep area making sure that the correct action is taken when preparing storing of all food products.
  • Pot wash areas maintained as safe areas of work and maintaining expected standards of cleanliness. Reporting maintenance issues immediately.
  • Ensure the kitchen is exceptionally clean at all times using the correct chemicals and cleaning schedules in line with compliance regulations
  • Ensuring our products are always available to the customers and being flexible when asked for a specific dietary requirement, demonstrating and help maintain high levels of service that consistently exceeds the expectations of the customer
  • Comprehensive understanding of your ingredients/products and the finished dishes and recording this using the quality control audit sheets
  • Taking ownership of stock ordering, planning and rotation – ensuring all products are put away safe and rotated when needed and stored efficiently in the correct area to avoid cross contamination form other ingredients
  • Understanding the business with it peaks and trough’s and maintaining a suitable stock level
  • Understanding allergens
  • Assisting the team with menu preparation whilst ensuring strict stock rotation and minimum wastage
  • Co-ordinating the work of kitchen hands in the preparation and production of food, whilst maintaining excellent presentation standards.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, keeping all work areas tidy and ensuring equipment is cleaned to OHS standards.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience in working on a shift pattern
  • Experience of working in premium hospitality
  • Experience working in a busy kitchen environment
  • Working alongside our executive chef / Heads of F&B to ensure menu changes are implemented seasonally

SALARY

  • $29.00 per hour
  • Superannuation guarantee
  • Shift penalties applicable under HIGA 2010
