BlueCross|SapphireCare is looking for an experienced Chef to join our Broughtonlea residence in Surrey Hills.

BlueCross Broughtonlea in Surrey Hills offers permanent and respite care (short term accommodation in a nursing home) to 98 residents. Broughtonlea's advantageous position between inner and suburban Melbourne means if you love being out and about in the community, there are the shopping strips of cosmopolitan Camberwell, the RSL Club in nearby Box Hill and the parklands of Wattle Park all within easy reach.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chef Manager and working with a team of catering staff you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality catering service to our residents. This role is essential in the preparation and overseeing the provision of the resident’s daily meals in accordance with dietary requirements whilst working cooperatively with care staff in a fun and positive work environment.

*** Weekend Chef working Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5.30pm each weekend***

About You

• Good interpersonal communication with staff, residents and families
• Must be organised, have good time management skills and clean work processes
• Diploma in Catering / Cooking or Cert 4 Commercial Cookery
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate preferred
• Food Handling Certificate
• Knowledge and experience with modified texture food and drinks
• Basic computer skills required
• Understanding of OH&S, Food Safety legislation and record keeping
