At Green Leaves Early Learning Centres, we take pride in building innovative and sustainable learning environments and practices in our state of the art, purpose built centres. We are seeking an experienced chef who is passionate about preparing fresh and wholesome meals for children in our new purpose built and fully equipped kitchen for our childcare centre at Craigieburn. You will cater up to 124 children per day.

You will have:

• Completed relevant vocational qualifications in commercial cookery
• Experience working in a childcare kitchen or an age care environment is an advantage but not necessary
• Food handling safety certificate
• Current Working with Children Check
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have experience and passion for cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods that are suitable for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years
• Be experienced in developing a rotating menu for children, including children with allergies and intolerances
• Be reliable, positive and well organised person
• Have good time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen

Your Role:

• Have good time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen
• Provide a barista service to families, training will be provided
• Enjoy working with families, colleagues and children
• Preparing for a nutritious and on time morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for babies and children each day, including the preparation of purees and special diet meals
• Menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with QLD Food and Council Authority requirements
• Providing daily freshly baked treats for our parents upon drop off daily.
