Chef / Kitchen Supervisor
Monday – Sunday Rolling Roster (No Evenings)
This position requires proactive hands on individual, with well-developed leadership skills and high energy levels, to assist in leading cooking, preparation & production in our purpose-built commercial kitchen located in Footscray.
Reporting to the Production Manager the successful applicant's responsibilities and experience will include:
Starting time of 7.00 am –
Preparing and cooking all food products.
- Preparation, maintaining and rotation of stock levels
- Supervising and managing a small kitchen team
- Ability to work independently.
- Proportioning and seasoning of all food.
- Ability to adequately regulate all foods
- Food preparation, temperature and quality control.
- Day to Day management and organization of kitchen team.
- Ensuring Production / Manufacturing of Products runs to schedule
- Ensuring quality and integrity of all food products
- Maintain and enforce GMP and Food Safety Program
- Mange HACCP Plan and assist with HACCP Administration.
Essential selection criteria –
- Certificate 3 in Cookery is a minimum requirement.
- Background in fresh food production, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, in a similar role.
- Proven experience in managing/ supervising and coordinating in a fresh food production environment (Certificate in Management or similar is desirable)
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Proven ability to work and supervise in a culturally diverse environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic; and a kind and approachable personality.
- Working knowledge of HACCP.
- A strong eye for detail and appreciation for quality products essential.
Please note that this is a Monday - Sunday position with a rolling roster and or AS REQUIRED – No Nights.
