About the role:

Pullman the Upscale International Hotel brand for AccorHotels, offers Lounge guests a new attitude for cosmopolitan business and leisure travellers visiting the Qantas Lounges Adelaide.

We are looking for a passionate and highly skilled Chef de Partie to join our talented kitchen team.

Working closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, this role is responsible for overseeing the overall kitchen service, and has a particular focus on driving the team and establishing and maintaining standards that are associated with a 5 star brand.

You will need to be confident in your leadership ability as no two days are the same and you will be required to make decisions on the spot. All of our roles are focused on exciting our guests with flair and enthusiasm and demonstrating a genuine passion for quality food and customer service.

Additional responsibilities include;

  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and related outlets.
  • Leading the team by setting a positive example.
  • Assisting the Executive Chef with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service.
  • Liaising with front of house employees regarding the availability of menu items, additions to the menu and any relevant changes.
  • Supervising of kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Delegating duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met.
  • Maintaining excellent presentation standards and cost control for all food and beverage outlets, whilst maintaining recipe standards.
  • Preparing and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified.
  • Ensuring strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.
  • Keeping all working areas clean and tidy & ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned to OHS standards.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Trade qualifications
  • Excellent technical knowledge with experience in all cooking techniques and styles
  • Experience leading and motivating a team
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Ability to maintain high and consistent standards
  • Excellent grooming and personal presentation
  • Understanding of and the ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP
