As a Centre Cook you will:

  • Be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals for children from zero to six years of age
  • Ensure all meals cater to each individual child’s dietary requirements i.e. medical conditions, food allergies and are culturally appropriate, so the individual needs of children are respected and met
  • Be responsible for ordering supplies and stock management in line with the allocated budget
  • Contribute to and comply with the centre’s Food Safety Plan and ensure food safety and hygiene standards are exceeding at all times
  • Be flexible and responsive and work with the Centre Manager to provide and respond to the changing needs of children and families
  • Be supported by the Centre Manager, staff and Child Safety Compliance Advisors
  • Be working part-time 30 hours per week, 8:00am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday

Position commences ASAP.

To be considered you will have:

  • Food Handlers and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is desirable
  • Experience cooking (preferably in bulk quantities) in a domestic or commercial environment
  • Previous experience as a Cook in a long day care or aged care service is strongly desirable
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate
  • Early Childhood Qualification is desirable
