The role

Reporting into the Catering Manager, we have an opportunity for someone with café experience to join our Melbourne catering team on a part time basis. The hours for this role are 8.30am - 12.30pm, Monday to Friday. The Assistant is primarily responsible to help manage the day to day operations of the firm

's onsite café, while being well presented and providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Help manage the day to day operations of the firm's onsite café
  • Ensure high quality customer service and presentation of coffee and menu items at all times
  • Provide a warm, friendly and welcoming style of service to all customers
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely manner and ensure customer supplies are replenished
  • Daily cleaning of the café and equipment and managing stock levels
  • Ensure company standards and procedures in relation to personal presentation, food quality and hygiene and safety standards are followed at all times
  • Ensure complaints are dealt with satisfactorily, or passed to the appropriate Manager
  • Other tasks as requested by the Catering Manager or Supervisor

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Barista and café attendant essential
  • Able to work efficiently and autonomously under pressure
  • Great communication skills in order to provide a great service to both clients, partners and employees
  • A team player, able to complete tasks to a high standard unsupervised and willing to be mentored and developed in the workplace
  • Willingness to be trained across other service areas
  • Outgoing, friendly personality with a responsive 'can do' attitude
  • Food handling certificate and aware of MCC health requirements
  • Current Responsible Service of Qlcohol (RSA) Certificate
