We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a highly driven 2nd Chef to manage the kitchen production within this high profile corporate retail environment based in Melbourne.

Reporting directly to the Chef Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day food preparation and menu development of the on-site retail, function and events. You will be multi-skilled with the ability to lead your team, meet financial targets, adhere to company standards, as well as maintain a strong relationship with the client.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Establishing and sustaining productive relationships with key client contacts
• Financial and Operational Management of the catering operation
• Ensuring high standards of food presentation
• Assist in the Design of function menus
• Manage staffing requirements and rosters
• Ordering and replenishing stock

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• Strong background in kitchen Management
• A focus on providing excellent food
• Strong understanding of all aspects of menu planning disciplines
• Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
• Highly developed leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of food handling and hygiene principles
