The Company

Our Client is a Biotechnology company based in the USA who is experiencing rapid growth and are now looking to expand their business and portfolio to Australia through the recruitment of a Sales and Marketing Representative in the Melbourne area. The successful candidate will be based in the field but will work and liaise with their US Headquarters in Chicago.

About the role

Reporting to the Global Head of Sales, your aim will be to deliver sales targets through developing and obtaining new customer accounts within a customer base in Academic, Research & Biotechnology Laboratories as well as maintaining and growing existing business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a sales and marketing strategy for the region
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers to grow long - term and effective business relationships
  • Pro-actively search and connect with new prospects
  • Provide effective solutions to key customers and prospects needs
  • Arrange and attend trade shows and exhibitions to further build brand awareness, with support from the US team
  • Actively liaise with procurement departments to facilitate ease of purchase
  • Provide feedback to Marketing and Product Development on customer and competitor activities
  • Contribute to the company’s international growth and be responsible for meeting and reporting on annual sales targets
  • Set up and oversee import / export relationships between the US and Australia to receive products from USA HQ
  • Set up and oversee logistics processes to distribute appropriate products to end - users on a timely and efficient basis

Skills and Experience

  • Must have a tertiary qualification in Life Sciences (minimum BSc)
  • Previous sales / marketing experience is preferred (life science market would be considered favourably)
  • Professional selling skills when identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Lab Management experience would be a distinct advantage
  • Strong time management skills and initiative
