RSPCA is a community based charity that works to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection. For most animals that find their way to an RSPCA shelter, it is the beginning of a new life. It is where we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome.

RSPCA South Australia is seeking to appoint a Retail Manager for our new Pet Retail Store. This exciting new store will sell pet retail products, provide a cat boarding service that gives owners peace of mind that their beloved pets will be well cared for while they are away from home, and help rehome kittens and cats to generate revenue to finance more of our lifesaving work.

We are in an exciting phase of transformational change across our entire business and we are looking for someone to help us take the next step in building customer loyalty and sales growth. The Retail Manager will successfully manage the daily operations of the new Pet Retail Store, as well as and need to be able to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front.

To undertake this role successfully, you will a have genuine commitment and compassion for animals and their welfare, with outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with a bubbly personality and a flexible attitude. You will be a great communicator with a relentless focus on the customer with the ability to identify and meet customer needs. First class organisation and time management will be critical in this busy role with front of house team leadership responsibilities. You will be a ‘self starter’ with a strong sense of initiative and confidence in decision making and problem solving, as well as encompass a strong flair for visual merchandising to create a positive customer experience and drive sales. You will bring a "hands on" approach and be a proactive person who leads by example and thrives on delivering an outstanding customer experience.
