About the business

Our practice has been operating for the last 9 years over multiple different sites, with primarily 2 cardiologists who both consult and perform diagnostic testing and as well procedures. Our head office is in Malvern which is where the role will be located.

About the role

The role is a Monday to Friday 8:30-5pm (starting time can be negotiated) job working in a close knit team. We have a part time practice manager and 4 doctors (3 full time, though not on site at any one time) who you would be working with. All of us pride ourselves on being personable and good to work with.

We are looking for someone friendly, polite and positive as you will almost always be the first (and frequently the last) point of contact for a patient. We hope to attract people who are motivated, efficient and good communicators.

In terms of the day to day tasks, this role involves:
- Answering the main practice phone
- Managing bookings
- Dealing with patient questions and informing doctors as necessary
- Communicating with other clinics / specialists
- Organising investigations requested by doctors at the practice
- Billing patients after they have been seen
- Typing letters when time permits

Skills and experience

The most important skills required for this job are:
1. Being good with people including clear, polite communication always (some of the clients we see have medical issues, are anxious about medical issues or have been given bad news which can sometimes lead patient distress / difficult interactions)
2. Being organised and efficient
3. Initiative - if things aren't working, doing what you can to solve the problem including asking questions and following things up
4. Experience with computer software / computers will be helpful

It should be said we value experience but not more than attitude and willingness to learn!
