Osborne Richardson are delighted to have exclusively been appointed in the search for a General Manager of Sales and Marketing based in a beautiful and sought after part of South East Queensland. ( Please note this role is not located in Melbourne, we have posted it here to attract candidates who will relocate)
Our client is a large well established food manufacturing business with a history of over 40 years with a strong reputation domestically. Global expansion has given them access to international markets and they plan to introduce their products into these exciting new locations rapidly over the next 3 years whilst adding new channels at the same time.
As part of their ambitious growth plans some exciting appointments have been made at board level alongside a recent strategic business acquisition. As a result our client wishes to appoint a General Manager of Sales and Marketing to spearhead this growth and drive the business forward both domestically and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Introduce Product into the US Market by developing and implementing strong strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve company objectives for products
- Develops and manages sales/marketing and operational operating budgets for domestic and global sales.
- Redesign and relaunch existing product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to a premium product resulting in the highest possible long-term market share.
- Work closely with site operations manager to extend site capability and introduce methods to ensure full site utilisation.
- Achieves strong profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
- Monitor competitor products on a worldwide basis and work closely with your key stakeholders to extend the company offering.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners within the local region.
- Monthly preparation of marketing activity reports and presentation to the board
- Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image based on the company’s niche product throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
- Meets with key customers, maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Coordinates liaison between sales, new product development and operations.
About you:
- A tertiary qualification in marketing and or a business related discipline
- Substantial and current experience within Food Manufacturing candidates coming with a strong background across the agriculture sectors will also be considered.
- A proven track record of delivering results and turning around companies who have previously under performed
