We are looking for highly skilled Carer's to care for our clients in a professional and compassionate manner. The job entails various shift work as our organisation will provide care for a 24hour period as required by carers/clients. But, it can also be very satisfying and rewarding, since people who are ill, disabled or elderly are thankful for high quality assistance.
The ideal candidate will be patient and friendly with excellent communication skills. You should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to help clients.
Responsibilities
Assisting clients with personal care activities including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene.
Providing companionship and social support during in home and in the community.
Performing household tasks such as preparing meals, laundry, shopping and cleaning.
Implementing strategies for managing dementia/alzheimers and other health issues.
Delivering activities that promote emotional and intellectual stimulation.
Maintaining a safe living environment by minimising or removing safety risks or hazards.
Transporting clients to appointments, social outings and social engagements.
Using equipment to assist clients with limited mobility such as hoists, swivel cushions and wheelchairs.
Be a pleasant and supportive companion
Report any situations of risk and incidents including near misses
Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Liaising with other health care professionals, family members and carers. Skills and experience:
Mandatory
First Aid including CPR
Police Check
Working with Children's Check
Current driving license and reliable vehicle
Good spoken and written English
Manual Handling Certificate
Certificate 3/4 in Individualised Support for Disability Services or Aged Care
Person-Centred Values - including flexibility to work with families in the home environment
Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme (DWES) check
Preferred
One Year direct Care Experience
