Our client is a leading accounting and company secretarial firm based in Melbourne. They are currently going through a rapid growth period and with this growth a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Accountant to join the team.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to build on and develop your corporate accounting skills in a busy environment with a variety of work and clients. Reporting to the Directors and/or ASX Listed Board your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and review financial statements; monthly, half-yearly and annual accounts based upon financial information that is compiled and analysed within Australian and International Accounting Standards
• Responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting deadlines are met, internally and externally as per ASX and Australian Securities and Investments Corporation (ASIC) requirements including quarterly, semi-annual & annual reports as well as accounting standards application to commercial transactions
• Oversee and review of audit files for half-year and full-year accounts
• Co-ordination of the completion of the annual income tax return and other indirect taxes
• Liaise with clients, financial professionals including auditors, tax professionals, legal providers on accounting tasks and corporate transactions
• Manage and oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll and bookkeeping functions
• Manage and oversee monthly management reporting
• Preparation of audit committee papers and financial Board papers
• Manage and support junior accountants and bookkeepers

About You

You are CA/CPA qualified with at least 3 year’s experience in audit or a professional accounting firm.

To be successful in this role you will have fantastic communication and interpersonal skills; your attention to detail and accuracy in your work is key. You are personally driven and proactive in approach and work comfortably in a busy environment where accounting is your passion.
