Eva Burrows College (EBC) is The Salvation Army’s national training and education provider. EBC commences service in January 2018 as a result of bringing together the functions of Booth College (Sydney) and Catherine Booth College (Melbourne).
The College supports the Salvation Army’s mission of caring for people, creating faith pathways, building healthy communities, and working for justice through providing integrated and coordinated learning, training and development services.
The Cleaner/Facilities Assistant position is responsible for ensuring that all facilities are clean and set-up, ready for use in support of the mission of Eva Burrows College.
The Cleaner will report to the EBC Facilities and Hospitality Team Leader and will provide cleaning services to the organisation.
Key areas of accountability include:
- Accommodation and Facilities – Accommodation and all College areas are clean and maintained in good working order
- Supplies – All cleaning equipment and chemicals are stored securley and ordering is up to date
- WHS – Ensure that safe working condisions and practices are in place
- Administration – Records/logs of supplies and equipment are up to date
For this role you will have to have previous experience in cleaning roles together with the understanding for the physical nature of some of the duties. To be successful you will need:
- Practical knowledge of commercial cleaning methods and techniques, material and equipment and experience of cleaning functions
- Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety procedures
- Good communication skills
- Practical knowledge of procedures for the use of commercial chemical handling
- Good understanding of manual handling techniques, methods and practices
The position will be located in Ringwood, Victoria.
This position is 20 hours per week.
