We are currently searching for enthusiastic and customer focused Catering Assistant to work at our corporate client site - a global tech giant based in Melbourne CBD.

The Position

We are currently searching for a talented and hard working Full Time Catering Assistant to join our corporate hospitality team in Melbourne’s CBD. Working between the café and boardrooms, you’ll get your hands dirty working within a close-knit team that will allow you to develop your skills and build your knowledge alike.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative ‘foodie’ who wants to be part of a busy kitchen team within Compass Group.

The Role

Basic food preparation including sandwich making

General food preparation including buffet preparation

Thorough cleaning of kitchen including dishes and floors

Stock rotation and stock control

Provision of excellent customer service to boarding students

Any other ad hoc duties as required by our fantastic Chefs and Management

Operating a commercial dishwasher to a high standard

Assist with general kitchen duties under the direction of the Site Manager

The Person

Comparable experience in either schools/boarding houses/cafes (preferred)

Experience in a fast paced hospitality environment

Large scale food preparation including sandwiches and function catering

Exceptional customer service skills

Able to build rapport and a great relationship with students

Ability to think on your feet & go the extra step

Understanding of OHS & food hygiene

Ability to take direction & work unsupervised

Basic Knife handling
