A client of ours is seeking to employ 10 personal support workers for the aged care / retirement home in Mount Waverley.
We are seeking compassionate, caring, supporting and skilled care givers to join there currently well established team. You must have completed a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, it is desired to have a current first aid and food safety handling certificate but not essential.
Various days and hours are available including weekend and weekday shifts. Shifts are scheduled:
- 7:00am - 3:00pm
- 3:00pm - 10:00pm
- 10:00pm - 7:00am
Qualities
- Satisfactory computer skills to record accurate resident documentation
- Knowledge of accreditation procedures and standards
- Australian Federal Police Check
The Care Supporters to provide a range of support and personal care services including, but not limited to:
- Ensure delivery of the highest standard of personal care which meets the emotional and physical needs of residents in line with individual care plans. Ensure safe administration of medication
- Create a home- like environment maintaining a high level of hygiene and cleanliness
- Ensure efficient laundry handling practises
- Prepare and present meals for residents in line with house model
- Facilitate and enable resident choice in relation to socialisation.
- Maintain effective communication with residents and relatives to achieve high level of customer satisfaction
- Actively support other team members in their everyday duties by being pro-active, solution orientated and customer focused
- Ensure appropriate and detailed documentation is updated on a regular basis in line with ACFI guidelines and processes
Community Relations
- Integrate the Better Together philosophy and beliefs in operations
- Residents and relatives view RACF orientation program for all new residents very highly.
- Resident advocacy is strongly evident in management communications.
- A strong sense of community is nurtured within the facility
- Take every opportunity to be a “salesperson” by active promotion of the facilities and services available within
AURLS.
Compliance
- Relevant compliance obligations are met.
- Ensure all documentation and reporting meets relevant standards, guidelines and legislation including 1997 Aged Care Act, etc.
- Ensure adherence to funding contract requirements during the course of service delivery.
- Ensure all reporting requirements are submitted
accurately and within scheduled timeframes
