The Role

Due to structural changes in the Finance & Accounting team, an exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and detailed part-time Accounts Clerk to join the RightShip team. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Accountant, you will be primarily responsible for the provision of high quality transactional accounting services supporting the financial accounting function.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Inspector customer invoicing (AR and AP)
  • Debtors / Creditors control – identifying, communicating and escalating to managers, external parties and the bank relating to receipt / payment issues (overpayments / underpayments, currency issues and bank transactional queries)
  • Creditor invoice entry
  • Preparation of general creditor payments, bi-monthly and as required
  • Contract customer maintenance
  • Relief preparation of bank reconciliation of all Rightship P/L bank accounts and relief Inspector creditor payments, bi-monthly as required
  • Ensuring audit standards are maintained
  • Ad-hoc financial and operational duties

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Working towards tertiary qualifications in a financial discipline such as Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance
  • Experience working within the financial operations of a small or medium business or in accounting public practice highly regarded but not mandatory
  • Experience with Pronto Accounting software highly regarded but not mandatory
  • Experience (intermediate level or higher) with using Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience with foreign currency highly regarded but not mandatory
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to identify compliance, commercial and financial issues and solve or communicate with manager
  • Flexibility to meet demands/deadlines required
  • An understanding of the overall accounting process
