Our modern venue caters to both dinner guests and drinkers with two levels offering refined casual dining and a cocktail bar. Food is offered in both.
About the role
We are looking for a Head Chef with the ability to take ownership of the kitchen, demonstrate strong leadership, create seasonal menus, work in a small team and ensure that recipes, food cost and procedures are being followed in detail.
Our exposed kitchen requires a positive personality and willingness to work in a dynamic environment while producing high quality food, and providing the best customer service experience.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Develop seasonal delicious menus
- Prepare all food consistently
- Lead the operation of the kitchen team according to standard and following procedures closely
- Ensure service is smooth running and customers receive the best experience
- Complete all checklists and reporting requirements
- Inventory and food cost management
- Occupational health and safety
Applicants will only be required to work Tuesday to Saturday.
Skills and experience
It is vital to have the following:
- Passion for food, quality and customer service
- Outstanding communications skills
- Capacity for following procedures and guaranteeing consistency
- Previous experience managing elements of an operational kitchen
- A solid understanding of food flavour profiles and modern food offerings,
- Understanding of back of house processes and management including COG's, wage costs, and forecasting
- A team leader who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and lead by example
- A desire to build a team of engaged and knowledgeable staff
- A problem solver with a positive attitude
