Epworth Eastern

Located in Box Hill, Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility and includes an 8 bed ICU, 10 bed HDU/CCU and 10 theatres.

Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic and general surgery to oncology, urology and endoscopy services. From consultation and detection through to surgery, Epworth Eastern aims to work with patients and their families to ensure they have the best experience possible.

In 2018, the commencement of Epworth Eastern’s expansion and redevelopment project will grow the hospital and introduce a brand new emergency department to the region.

The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and results driven Head Chef to join our leadership team at Epworth Eastern. The Head Chef is responsible for ensuring that the Food Services department is run efficiently and professionally, whilst achieving the highest standard of food for our patients and visitors at all times. The role will oversee the effective management of a workforce of chefs, cooks, menu monitors and food services assistants.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader who is ready to make it their own and lead the Food Services team through our next stage of growth.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be an experienced, inspiring and innovative Head Chef, with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service and staff satisfaction.

In addition, you will have the following:

  • High accountability and able to demonstrate a supportive and engaging leadership style
  • Proven track record in delivering exceptional quality food & customer service
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential)
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, together with strong communication skills
  • Extensive a la carte experience
  • Expertise in setting and managing elements of a budget, including menu development, food and labour costings
  • Be available to work across 7 days a week where needed
  • Strong computer skills
  • Sound knowledge and ability to implement and monitor all food safety requirements within the hospital
