Exciting new position

We are a catering business with major contracts to Universities and the public sector. in January 2019, we will be opening a cafe/bistro in a University campus in Parkville. We are looking for an individual that is prepared to develop and learn in our business whilst bringing your ideas in. You do not have to be a Chef, just well seasoned in the cooking department with world cuisine experience. A strong attribute will be a specialist in a variety of curries, Asian foods, Italian, Mexican and American.

The Role

1. The main role is cooking in bulk. Lots of Curries, Stir Fries, Pastas, Soups, Roasts, Burritos, Parmas e.t.c.

2. Catering for functions is a large part of the role with Sandwiches, Rolls, Wraps, Canapes e.t.c.

3. Hands on customer service, cleaning, dish washing as all staff do.

4. Must have a Food Handlers and Food Safety Supervisor's Certificate.

The position is rare as it is primarily Monday - Friday with early afternoon finishes. There will be the occasional evening or weekend function where we expect you to work.

The training will commence in December 2018 at Mitcham so you will need to travel for a few weeks. You will have Christmas and new Year off, then start at Parkville around 7th January 2019.
