We are looking for a passionate Commis Chef to join the Piggery Café kitchen team. This is an opportunity to step up and work with industry professionals who are keen to hone their craft as well as to learn from some of the best in the business.

The Role

As a Commis Chef, you will work with seasonal, local produce in a fast paced kitchen. You will work alongside leading industry professionals to provide exceptional cuisine.

The Company

Burnham Beeches is an iconic Art Moderne mansion and estate located in Sherbrooke, 45 minutes from the city of Melbourne and home to our state-of-the-art bakery and Piggery cafe, 500-tree trufferie, extensive vegetable gardens (providing organic produce for the cafe as well as Vue de monde) and an emu enclosure.

Our Requirements

The successful applicants must have:

• Proven experience in a similar role
• Previous experience working in a similar environment highly regarded
• Relevant trade qualification (commercial cookery)
• Flexible work availability including weekends & public holidays
• Demonstrated ability to work in a safe, hygienic and professional manner
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Solid food knowledge
• Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
• Able to work under pressure
• Own consistent transport
