A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced, qualified Chef to join our well established and highly reputable catering company, working at our kitchen site at an aged care facility. This full time, hands on Chef Manager position will be Monday to Friday approx. 9.00 - 5.30pm, based in Donvale.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and cooking of meals for residents as per menu
  • Budget, stock take and regular ordering
  • Monitoring of stock after delivery
  • Communicating daily with the Operations Manager, Site Manager and facility staff
  • Ensuring kitchen operations adhere to Food Safety Program
  • Supervision and the provision of direction to kitchen staff
  • Ensuring all staff handle food according to safe food practices
  • Ensuring all food is served to customers in a presentable manner
  • Completion of food safety documentation
  • Following up and documenting complaints
  • Monitoring time sheets
  • Assisting with weekly rosters and filling shifts

The successful applicant must also demonstrate:

  • Certificate 3 Commercial Cooking qualification
  • Experience in senior living
  • Minimum of five years commercial cooking experience
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate (HLTFS)
  • Demonstrated management experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Sector

The successful applicant must have:

  • Own transport
  • Current police check prior to start date (within last 3 years).
  • Basic computer skills (emails, online ordering)
