Cater Care is seeking an experienced Chef to prepare healthy nutritious Home-style meals for our valued residents at an Aged Care facility in Westmeadows.

The key to our success is our people, your role in this environment is to provide friendly, attentive and efficient service to our valued residents through cooking a variety of nutritious Homestyle meals, preparation of ingredients and food service.

Please Note: successful applicants will be required to undergo a Police Clearance before commencing

Roster

Week 1: Wednesday to Thursday 9.00am - 5.30pm

Week 2: Monday to Tuesday 9.00am - 5.30pm

Key Responsibilities include:

• Preparation of ingredients/menu offering residents choice and variety
  
• Special diets and diet requirements including allergies/intolerances, supplements and texture modified soft & purees
  
• Washing up dishes and cleaning up after service
  
• Organised, willing to take charge and strong communication
  
• Work independently with limited supervision
  
• Monitoring & promoting kitchen hygiene & food safety practices
  

Key Criteria:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience in a similar role
  
• Experience with simple homestyle bulk cooking
  
• Excellent customer service and engagement skills
  
• Understanding of working with the elderly and vulnerable people
  
• Strong WH&S and Food Safety awareness
  

The successful candidates will have previous experience in a similar role working in Aged Care, Health or Hospitals. You will be a well presented and self-motivated individual who has excellent organisational and communication skills.
